Two Kaizer Chiefs players who could make their Amakhosi debuts against Mamelodi Sundowns


Stuart Baxter and Kaizer Chiefs are preparing to take on Mamelodi Sundowns with two stars ready to make their much-anticipated debuts for Amakhosi.

Sibusiso Mabiliso and Njabulo Ngcobo and fit and raring to go.

Mabiliso has played in the big games, however Baxter opted for experience in Sifiso Hlanti.

Hlanti is a PSL veteran and a solid left-back to have while Mabiliso is hungry to play. He was surprisingly not selected for Hugo Broos’ matches with many expected him to start both games.

Nyiko Mobbie was selected ahead of Mabiliso, starting both Bafana Bafana’s matches against Zimbabwe and Ghana respectively.

The left-back has not played for Chiefs since signing to Naturena and will earn his long-awaited debut should get game time against the defending DStv Premiership champions, Mamelodi Sundowns.

Ngcobo was one of the biggest of the 9 signings made by Baxter in the transfer window.

Chiefs take on Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria on Sunday.

Kick-off is at 17:00.
