Suspended Supra Mahumapelo remains defiant

South Africa

Johannesburg – Former North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo said he is consulting his lawyers following his suspension by the ANC in the North West.

Mahumapelo and acting ANC Woman’s League Provincial Secretary Bitsa Lenkopane were suspended for five years, for sowing divisions within the party but they are appealing the decision.

On Friday, Magashule tried to throw Mahumapelo and Lenkupane a lifeline, saying their membership will remain intact until their appeal is concluded but the ANC in North West is standing firm.

Mahumapelo and Lenkupane’s fate now hangs in the hands of the national disciplinary committee.
