PSL official Ronnie Scholss has explained the reasoning behind TS Galaxy chairperson Tim Sukazi’s exclusion from Orlando Stadium.
Scholss confirmed that club chairpersons are allowed to enter stadium dressing rooms and pitches – if they have met all the Covid-19 protocols.
In this case one can only assume Sukazi didn’t have the necessary Covid-19 clearance to do so.
Sukazi was denied entry on Saturday into Orlando Stadium by security in a video that has gone viral on social media.
The incident was not the first, following Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos being denied entry into the stadium ahead of a match between Orlando Stadium and Mamelodi Sundowns.
“A club chairman can only go into the dressing room if he’s got accreditation,” said Scholss.
“He can go anywhere yes with that accreditation, and he would have been required to have had his 48-hour Covid-19 test as well.
“The club will usually give a list of all 160 people to attend the game, including both teams and all officials,” he added.
