Justice for Dumi Masilela: Zola Hashatsi remembers his friend ahead of trial

Johannesburg – Monday, 31 May would have been Dumi Masilela’s 33rd birthday but instead, the late Rhythm City actor’s friends and family are expected to gather in a courtroom for his murder trial.

Zola Hashatsi took to Instagram to remember his late friend ahead of the trial.

“Next Week Monday [May 31] is @dmasilela’s birthday and his trial will resume and I will be in court. I need justice for him and I need these murders to ALL GO DOWN Sfundo Harrison Nkosi, 30, of Ivory Park, Bongani John Masombuka, 34, of Tembisa, Khumbuzo Solomon Mukhuba, 27, Brian Makhubedu, 24, and Mashudu Malema, 31, all of Ivory Park,” Hashatsi wrote.

Masilela was fatally wounded in an attempted hijacking in August 2017.

According to Gauteng Police, Masilela and a friend were sitting in a white Golf 7 in Tembisa South when they were approached by men in a black Jeep. The occupants of the Jeep tried to hijack them.

“The two occupants in the Golf tried to drive off and one of them was shot,” said Gautenf police spokesperson Kay Makhubele in a statement.

Masilela was driven to hospital by his friend, but it was too late for the star.
