Berlin – German leaders in German are slowly growing impatient with government officials as religious services remain banned. They have, however, placed strict guidelines and regulations for holding religious services.
Services have been prohibited since the lockdown commenced in mid-March and a result worshippers are growing furious with the government’s slowness with regards to the reopening of the churches.
The recent decrease in infections had led to the reopening of small businesses, but nothing has been said with regard to the reopening of churches.
Religious leaders have agreed in advance to meet set general rules which include social distancing. However, the leaders argue that the government has been to reopen churches and allow religious gatherings as they need to ensure that the police are not overwhelmed, and institutions need to be eased out of restrictions step by step.
