Club legend: Lorch not good enough for Mamelodi Sundowns

Johannesburg – Mamelodi Sundowns legend Charles Motlohi has launched a rather scathing attack on Orlando Pirates midfielder Thembinkosi Lorch.

The former Sundowns midfielder has issued a stern warning to the 2019/20 PSL Player of The Season’ Thembinkosi Lorch to stay away from his club.

Motlohi said the Orlando Pirates attacker is simply not good enough for Mamelodi Sundowns and should try his luck at Kaizer Chiefs instead.

Lorch has been linked with a move away from Pirates and Sundowns are reportedly in the race to sign the attacker.

Motlohi, however, has urged the Brazilians to avoid signing Thembinkosi Lorch at all costs.

“No, I don’t think they need him. Thembinkosi Lorch and Oupa Manyisa play the same style of football,” said Motlohi.

“He is good but not for Sundowns. I think a move to Kaizer Chiefs might suit him better because, honestly speaking, Chiefs don’t have players at the moment. Just imagine how many players are playing in his position at Sundowns in the current squad.

“The likes of Hlompho Kekana can’t even get game time. I trusted Kermit Erasmus to do well at Sundowns but he is forever injured. But as for Lorch, no, I don’t rate him that much to play for us.”

Lorch has scored four goals and assisted a further five goals for the Mayfair outfit in 24 matches this season.
